Lobguins 2011 JAGB Softball Tournament Highlights
Yes, we won the championship! GAME 1 MVP: Ryan (Hit a
fence-clearing homer.) GAME 2 MVP: none (Because
it was a tie.) GAME 3 MVP: Osamu (Made a
spectacular diving catch on a sinking liner.) GAME 4 MVP: Misa (Batted
perfect 1.000, and her first hit was the catalyst in getting Lobguins’ bats
going. Misa is probably the first female player in JAGB history to get 2
hits in an inning in a championship game.) Tournament MVP: Shu (Had
hitters off-balance throughout the tournament.) I couldn’t agree with more
with these awards; JAGB did a wonderful job in choosing these MVPs. We played three very good
teams. We were not perfect by any means, but obviously played well and
smart when needed. We did it with great pitching, timely hitting, and
solid defense. Everybody made contributions to the championship, and we
could not have captured the championship if any of the pieces were missing.
Thank you everyone! Extra-special “thank you”
to Ryan who came to join us at a time of need and made some huge contributions,
and also for bring the tournament MVP to Lobguins! Additionally, big thanks to
Mami, Francis, and Daigo who came to cheer for us. Daigo, I wish you were
there with us to celebrate on the field. The championship cup belongs to
you. And thank you Reiko (K) for keeping us fed! Also, thanks to Tsukasa for
officiating two of our games including the championship game. I was really
glad that you were there to see us finally win the tournament. Thanks
again – it surely is a day I’ll remember for a very long time! Mitz #8 This one is dedicated to Daigo and all of those who started this team over 10 years ago just to compete in this annual softball tournament hosted by Japanese Association of Greater Boston, and those who helped to keep the team going over the years. Thank you all. -- October 16, 2011
